Mayor Cristina Cutrone

Mayor Cristina Cutrone was appointed to Fair Lawn’s Borough’s Council in 2017 and elected to the position in 2018. Cristina was appointed Mayor of Fair Lawn on February 27, 2025.

Cristina was a public school teacher for 19 years. She currently is the Social Studies Supervisor for the Tenafly School District. Previously she served as a trustee to the Bergen County Board of Education for Special Services.

She is also the founder and former president of a grassroots organization called WE DO (Women Empowered Democratic Organization) whose mission is to support women to run for office or become involved in local public service.

Mayor Cutrone was appointed by Governor Murphy to the North Jersey Water Supply Commission in 2022. 

Cristina holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland in Government and Politics and Secondary Education and a master’s degree from New Jersey City University in Educational Leadership. 

Mayor Cutrone is married and has two young children, a boy and a girl.
