Human Services
The Human Service Department offers social services, assistance and referrals to our residents. We have handed out bags of food, backpacks filled with school supplies, Thanksgiving baskets and holiday gifts for children. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, usage of our pantry has tripled.
Food Pantry
Funded entirely by private donations, our food pantry is utilized on a regular basis by many Fair Lawn families who receive food and personal products and when necessary.
Non-perishable food and personal product donations can be dropped off during regular business hours and during public meetings at Borough Hall, 8-01 Fair Lawn Ave. Donations can be left in the black bin inside the Parmelee Ave entrance or bring donations to Room 109.
Please do not leave any foods that need to be refrigerated or frozen.
For large donations, please call before delivery.
Monetary donations are accepted and checks should be made payable to "Fair Lawn Human Services Trust".

Holiday & Special Programs
During the Summer we collect school supplies which will be distributed to children in late August. We only accept new and unused items. Many of the students that we help are in Middle and High School and can use binders, multi-subject notebooks, folders, pens, and mechanical pencils the most. $20- $25 gift cards to Staples, Target & Walmart are very helpful for caregivers to buy electrical items, uniforms, and school list items.
The Holiday Food Drive aims to provide a complete Thanksgiving meal for our needy families as well as stocking the food pantry for the winter months. Thanksgiving Baskets are normally assembled the week prior to Thanksgiving and donations of holiday-specific items are requested by then so that they can be included in the baskets. Please follow this link for information about Holiday Donations.
The Holiday Gift Drive involves items from children’s wish lists being placed on our bulletin board where residents can stop by Room 109 in the Municipal Building or view the Gift Wish List on Amazon and pick what they would like to purchase to help make their Holiday period bright.
