Leaf Permits: Landscapers

Status of Site

2024 information will be announced in October.   


Landscapers may purchase a dump permit to drop off leaves at the Fair Lawn Compost Site. Permits are $100.00 per truck for the season. Tickets are available for sale starting in October and are valid until December 31st or when the compost site has reached capacity as per NJ DEP regulations.

All permit holders must adhere to the following regulations or their permit is subject to revocation without refund. (DOWNLOAD FULL REGULATIONS)

  • A dump slip must be turned in to the staff doing permit checks. If there is no staff doing checks, the dump slip must be left in the mailbox by the Recycling office. (DOWNLOAD DUMP SLIP)
  • Unhitch trailers in the commuter parking lot adjacent to the Recycling office. Do NOT block the main entrance road with trailers or vehicles. 
  • Only leaves collected from properties within the Borough of Fair Lawn are allowed to be dumped. 
  • NO materials, except leaves, are permitted in the load. 

Leaves and yard waste are PROHIBITED from being dumped in the street at any time.
