Our Mission
The Fair Lawn Garden Club was formed to beautify public spaces in Fair Lawn.
About Us
The Fair Lawn Garden Club was formed to beautify public spaces in Fair Lawn. In the beginning we met monthly, then those meetings were reduced over time to not having formal meetings at all. Instead we put our efforts in working on the gardens. Our projects include
The Maurice M. Pine Fair Lawn Public Library (under renovation), the triangle on Owen Ave./Plaza Rd. No. and our largest project the Fair Lawn Arboretum & Bird Sanctuary.
Our annual fundraiser from the popular Plant Swap is a way of earning extra money for the committee, and meeting like minded residents who bring interesting plants to swap.
Join Us
There are few requirements for being a member: a minimum of 8 hours per year, and not being adverse to getting dirty. This is truly a hands-on committee. Plant experience is not necessary, just a willingness to learn and work. Benefits of being a part of the committee are being a part of beautifying the community, working with great people, and being rewarded with extra plants. We always need volunteers. If you would like to become a member contact the Borough Clerk's office at nmagarelli@fairlawn.org
If you would like to donate plants from an overgrown garden or a landscaping update, please call Martha, 201-796-8369. We cannot take large shrubs as conifers with deep root systems; azaleas and rhododendrons are usually good. Perennials are always welcome.
