Deputy Mayor Krause was elected to the Fair Lawn Council in 2019 and began serving as a Councilman in January 2020. Along with his wife, Merideth, Kris has two young sons who attend school in Fair Lawn. He is a volunteer wrestling coach for Fair Lawn All Sports where he coaches kids from pre-school through eighth grade during the winter sports season and throughout the off season. He served as chairman of the Memorial Pool Committee for two years and graduated from 2019’s Fair Lawn Citizens’ Fire Academy.
Kris holds two bachelor's degrees from the University of Central Florida in English: Creative Writing and Political Science. He earned a juris doctorate, graduating with honors, from the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida. He practices law in the State of New Jersey where he has argued before the state’s trial courts, Appellate Division, and the New Jersey Supreme Court. He enjoys writing music, hiking, and reading in his spare time.
