Gail Cebular

Gail Cebular joined the Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps. on October 30, 1985. She has been a member for 38 years and served on many committees and held office for many terms.

Gail was a trailblazer as she served as the organization’s first female president in 1997. She went on to serve as president in 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2010.  Gail also served as vice president in 1991, 1995, 1996, 1999 and 2005.

As president in 2001, Gail oversaw the Corps.’ response to 9/11. She led one of the first groups of volunteers to arrive at Jersey City to receive the injured from across the river. She also led the EMS response to the Fair Lawn Plaza Building fire in 2002, which ended up being a 2-day standby involving multiple EMS agencies.

Gail led the drive to change the name of a portion of Berdan Avenue, in front the Ambulance Corps. Headquarters, Cooper’s Way, in honor of a long-time, deceased member. She also was president during the initial   discussions and planning of the Ambulance Corps. headquarters renovation.

Gail became known for her unique gift of earning donations from many different companies throughout her service with the Corps. She was the “Queen of Donations”, and still assists the Corps. in that function from her new home in Delaware, which she shares with her husband, Ed (an     Honorary Member of the Corps.), where they moved in 2021.

Gail still takes ambulance calls during her frequent trips back to the area.
