Councilmember Joseph Baldofsky

Joseph Baldofsky was elected to the Fair Lawn Council in 2025, beginning his service on the Council in January 2026. A lifelong resident of Fair Lawn and a proud product of the Fair Lawn Public Schools, Joseph previously served four years on the Fair Lawn Board of Education (2022-2026), including two years as Vice President.

Joseph earned a B.A. in History with a minor in Political Science from The College of New Jersey in 2019 and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School - Newark in 2024. Joseph currently practices education law at a mid-sized firm based in Secaucus, representing school districts across the state. Joseph has broad government experience, beginning in Fair Lawn’s Borough Hall as a high school intern and continuing through roles at the county and state level, including experience as a Governor’s Executive Fellow. Through these experiences, Joseph had the opportunity to learn the importance of local public service from three former Fair Lawn mayors.

Deeply committed to the community, Joseph values public safety, environmental stewardship, and preserving the Borough’s character while planning responsibly for its future. He believes in transparent, collaborative local government and is dedicated to serving residents with care, integrity, and respect. As the youngest council member elected to the Borough Council, and the first member of Generation Z (demographic cohort born between 1997 and 2012) elected to serve our community, Joseph brings a fresh perspective grounded in lifelong community involvement.
