The Fair Lawn Recycling Department has worked  with the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission, River Restoration Program, to clean up the areas shown below. We hope that this program will continue for the next few years and allow us to clean up Fair Lawn's river bank along the Passaic River. These two locations were cleaned up in 2001.

Litter has accumulated along Passaic River bank due to fallen trees & branches. 
This debris was caused by litter dropped on the street (flow through storm drains) or
dropped directly into the river.

Illegal dumping of wood pallets by Passaic River bank.
Wood pallets and logs were illegally dumped next to the River by an unscrupulous company. 

Litter and debris accumulate on a storm drain.
Litter and debris accumulates by a storm drain on Wagaraw Road next to the 
Passaic River. 

Illegal dumping of shopping cart in Passaic River.
More litter accumulates on Passaic River banks. This debris also includes items 
dumped into the river (shopping cart, a chair and a tire).
