Household Hazardous Waste Collection - Sunday, 10/21 from 9 AM to 3 PM
The BCUA will be holding their FINAL 2007 household hazardous waste
collection on Sunday, 10/21 from 9 AM to 3 PM at Bergen Community College,
Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ. Proof of Bergen County residency is required. For

Fair Lawn Street Fair - Sunday, 10/21 from 11 AM to 5 PM 
The Fair Lawn Street Fair will be held on Sunday, 10/21 from 11 AM to 5 PM
on River Road between Fair Lawn Avenue and Berdan Avenue. Please be advised
that River Road will be closed prior to the event until the event has been
cleaned up. Traffic will be detoured to Edward Street and George Street
during the road closing.

Construction Collection - Week of 10/22 on your garbage day
The Borough garbage contractor, Cali Carting, will be collecting small
amounts of construction material on regular garbage day during the week of
October 22nd. Residents may place out up to 4 barrels (240 pounds
equivalent) with their regular garbage.  
This program does NOT include brick, block, stone, concrete, asphalt, dirt,
rock or recyclables. For more details, consult your 2007 recycling handbook
(page 5).

Halloween Parade - Saturday, 10/27 starting at 10:30 AM
The Fair Lawn Recreation Department is holding its annual Halloween Parade
at the Memorial Pool bath house starting at 10:30 AM on Saturday, 10/27.
Participants are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite costume and a
treat bag will be available for all participants. Parents are encouraged to
come dressed in costume too!

Flu Shots Available - Wednesday, 10/31 and Wednesday, 11/7 from 8 AM to 9:45
AM
The Health Department will be conducting two Flu Clinics to immunize
residents against influenza and pneumonia.  The dates are:  
Wednesday October 31, 2007 and Wednesday November 7, 2007, 8AM to 9:45AM at
the Fair Lawn Municipal Building, 8-01 Fair Lawn Avenue, in room B-5. 
 
In person pre-registration for the clinic is taking place at the Health
Department, Room 112, Monday through Friday 9AM to 4PM.  Residents over 65
years of age should bring their Medicare Card (Part B) to pre-register.
 The fee for anyone over 18 years old without a Part B Medicare Card is
$15.00 for the flu vaccine.

Cats / Dogs Rabies Clinic - Wednesday, 11/7 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM
The Health Department is holding a rabies clinic for cats and dogs on
Wednesday, 11/7 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Parks Department garage
located behind the bath house at Memorial Pool. For more information call
