On Saturday November 1, 2008 at 8:00pm, the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club
Concert Series at the Fair Lawn Community Center will present legendary
singer-songwriter Eric Andersen and special guest Tom Breiding.

Eric Andersen’s career spans over 40 years, in which he has released over
two dozen albums of original songs and completed numerous tours of North
America, Europe, and Japan. His songs have been recorded by artists all over
the world, including Judy Collins, Fairport Convention, Peter Paul and Mary,
Rick Nelson, Linda Ronstadt, The Grateful Dead, and Francoise Hardy.

Songwriter Tom Paxton discovered him in the late fall of 1963, performing at
the Coffee Gallery in North Beach, California. Paxton heard his songs and
invited him to New York City. In 1964, Eric was introduced to the Greenwich
Village songwriting circle of Phil Ochs and Bob Dylan. Over the next three
years Andersen wrote and recorded four albums which would include early c
lassics "Come To My Bedside", "Thirsty Boots", and "Violets of Dawn".

In 1970, Andersen played the Festival Express, a historic musical train tour
across Cana da. Eric was the only solo acoustic performer on a show that
included Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, Buddy Guy, and the Band.

In 2003, Andersen recorded two CD’s featuring songs by other seminal 60’s
singer-songwriters called the “Great American Songs Series”. His most recent
CD of his own new songs, “Beat Avenue”, shows him at the peak of his
creative powers.

Opening the evening will be Tom Breiding. Breiding’s epic songs echo the
voices resonating from the coalfields of West Virginia, the mills of
industrial Pittsburgh, and the Main Streets of small-town America.

His recent release “The Unbroken Circle: Songs of the West Virginia
Coalfields” spent sixteen weeks in the top 100 on the American Music
Association Chart with reported radio airplay in every corner of the United
States.

The Fair Lawn Community Center is located at 10-10 20th Street in Fair Lawn,
NJ. Tickets for this concert are only $28 ($25 for Hurdy Gurdy
