Human Services Department
The Human Service Department has assisted over 200 Fair Lawn families and residents. We have handed out over 5,600 bags of food, 160 backpacks filled with school supplies, 190 Thanksgiving baskets and over 2,500 holiday gifts for children.
The Fair Lawn Human Services Department assists borough residents who need help getting through hard times. Funded entirely by private donations, our food pantry is utilized on a regular basis by many Fair Lawn families who receive food and personal products and when necessary.
Donations of food and personal products for the pantry are accepted year round and can be delivered to the basement of Borough Hall and left outside of the pantry if it is closed. For large donations, please call (201) 794-5333 before delivery.
In the Spring and Summer our food pantry supplies become critically low.
Donations of Macaroni & Cheese, Chef Boyardee, Peanut Butter and
Jelly, canned tuna, beverages, snacks and personal products are very
necessary during this period of time. The Human Services clerk can
always give you updated information on what items are most needed.
Monetary donations are accepted and checks should be made payable to "Fair Lawn Human Services Trust".

Holiday & Special Programs:
During the Summer we collect school supplies which will be distributed to children in late August. Many of the students that we help are in Middle and High School and can use binders, multi-subject notebooks, folders, pens, flash drives and mechanical pencils the most.
The Holiday Food Drive aims to provide a complete Thanksgiving meal for our needy families as well as stocking the food pantry for the winter months.Thanksgiving Baskets are normally assembled the week prior to Thanksgiving and donations of holiday specific items are requested by then so that they can be included in the baskets.
The Holiday Gift Drive involves items from children’s wish lists being placed on
our bulletin board where residents can stop by room 109 in the Municipal
Building and pick what they would like to purchase.
Operation Santa Boone is a special event run in conjunction with the Police Department and Fair Lawn's Volunteer Emergency Services. Santa Boone Information.
